K Chandramohan, Chairman & Managing Director, NTC Group of Companies established the "Palaniammal Kandasamy Charitable Trust" in memory of his mother.
The trust is involved in various social activities towards empowerment of poor and needy. An activity of the trust is exclusively aimed at developing the driver community that forms the very back-bone of the logistics industry. The trust is actively engaged in philanthropic activities regularly:
Monthly eye camps.
Financial aid to families from BPL category and needy children to enable them to successfully complete computer training.
Clothes to orphaned children
Funding to construct park.
Education and children welfare
The trust has extended financial aid to Konur Government High School for the construction of three new classrooms for children and in the last three years, has organized & implemented the free distribution of photo IDs to all students of Konur Government High School. There is a cash award program for the students of the same school. The student who secures highest marks in class X exams each year is awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and the student who secures the second highest marks is awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
Drivers’ welfare measures
A first in India, have been imparting free training to drivers of Namakkal, in advanced, modernized and imported HMV technology at the NTC College of Transport Education, for the last two years. The trust also organizes helmet & road safety rallies, road safety awareness programs, at schools and colleges every January. Blood donation camps, free eye & medical camps, and AIDS awareness programs form part of the trust’s calendar.
