One of the most reputed chemical manufacturers is setting up a new unit at Jolva, GJ. They required a comprehensive logistics solution for importing materials from various countries and locations, including a critical component—the 300 MT converter, the heart of the unit. NTC Logistics expertly handled the end-to-end transportation of the 69 packages and the critical component from Tianjin Port, China, to the site in Julva, Gujarat.

The objective was to provide a one-stop solution for the movement of the 300 MT converter, considering its import from various origins. This included identifying a suitable discharge port, evaluating the feasibility of movement, and executing the transportation from the delivery port to the plant site in Jolva within the project timeline.

The initial target was to deliver the project ahead of the stipulated schedule. To achieve this, cargo reception at Dahej Port was crucial. Adhering to Adani-Dahej Port’s policy of a berth capacity of 13 MT per line on hydraulic axles, including unladen weight, was vital for transporting the cargo from South-Breakbulk Berth to the storage yard.

To make the cargo movement feasible, 42 light poles within the port premises had to be removed, along with 24 fire hydrant lines. Our expert team swiftly secured permissions, ensuring no hindrance enroute to timely delivery. The cargo’s substantial width of 8.37m necessitated a specially imported axle combination. Our NTC engineering team took on this challenge and rose to the occasion, deploying a custom-designed 24+12 axle combination. Civil development includes widening of roads to navigate two 90° turns within the site to ensure safety of the cargo.              

Navigating all the complex logistics, the 300 MT converter reached its destination in Jolva within the project timeline, showcasing the capability of NTC in managing complex logistics scenarios and providing end-to-end solutions for critical industrial projects.
