OOG CARGO FROM DANANG TO DURBAN

OOG Cargo From Danang to Durban

The NTC Malaysia team undertook a shipment for one of our prestigious clients. The cargo was a rotar equipment that needed to be repaired at an exclusive plant in Durban. The cargo was loaded in Danang, Vietnam, and moved to Durban Port. It took 22 days to move from port to port, and once it reached the port, the Customs Clearance was completed within two days in Durban and the cargo was delivered to the location on the same day.

The rotor was loaded into a wooden crate, which required careful planning, since lifting the rotor using belt lashing at both ends needed to ensure the balance of the rotor, otherwise the rotor might get damaged. The booking release of the rotor was 1×40’FR in gauge. After packaging the cargo, it was altered, and the cargo exceeded the height limit. The dimensions of the cargo after packing are 7.5m L x 2.2m W x 2.15m H (approx. 25,000 kg). This made the cargo an Out of Gauge cargo, which would require re-application and approval before it could be shipped.

This presented a challenge for our team, as they needed to secure approval for the shipment on the same vessel. The team reapplied for the shipment as an Out of Gauge cargo and was able to secure approval for the shipment on the same vessel. This required a significant amount of paperwork and coordination with the relevant authorities and shipping companies.

Despite the challenges faced, the NTC Malaysia team was able to successfully ship the Out of Gauge cargo valued at EUR 334,000.00, to South Africa. This speaks of the team’s expertise in managing complex logistics and their commitment to ensuring that their clients’ cargo arrives at its destination safely on time.
