Delivering India's rich diversity to the global stage

NTC Logistics recently transported the world’s tallest Nataraja statue from Swamimalai, Tamil Nadu, to Pragathi Maidan, New Delhi. The tallest Nataraja statue has been erected at Bharat Mandapam, serving as an International Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre that hosted the G20 Summit 2023. One of the foremost challenges in delivering the statue lay in the physical dimensions of the idol itself. Dimensions measuring a towering 28 feet in height and 21 feet in width required extensive preparation. NTC deployed a suitable trailer to ensure the safe handling and transportation of the delicate structure with utmost care.
The journey spanned an extensive 2,500 kilometers, which included navigating through congested urban areas, narrow roads, and uneven terrain. A complete pre planning process was executed, which involved a thorough route survey to guarantee a seamless passage. The toll plazas along this complete journey had to be cleared in advance to facilitate smooth and rapid transportation. The complexity of the journey became evident near the Thoppur Ghats Section, where the necessity arose to implement roadblocks since the route is heavily congested.
As we progressed, we encountered another significant challenge near the town of Hosur, where it is predominantly a single-lane narrow roads. Maneuvering a statue of colossal width through such tight quarters demanded precision and skill. The most demanding phase of our journey unfolded between Adilabad, Telangana, and Nagpur, Madhya Pradesh. This 195 kilometer stretch was marked by severe road congestion. In an ideal transportation scenario, this might not have posed a significant issue. However, the stringent time frame within which we had to operate added a layer of complexity to the situation.
Moreover, the need to transport the delicate statue safely demanded an extra level of care and attention. Specifically, we encountered uneven terrain near Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, which further tested the logistics expertise.
A green corridor was created by coordinating with the local authorities, which ensured traffic management and secured an uninterrupted passage for the convoy of experts.
Prior to embarking on this transportation, the drivers underwent thorough training to ensure their readiness for the task at hand. The statue accomplished its journey in an astonishing 88 hours, triumphing over every obstacle that came its way. The around-the-clock efforts of our two drivers, who took turns driving the statue to its destination, played an important role in the entire operation.
Our senior management team constantly monitored the entire transportation process. Their active communication with Union Ministry officials further ensured the successful completion of this extraordinary mission.
